Trinity Health System celebrated the achievements of its Emergency Medicine residency program during a graduation ceremony held on Thurs., June 12, 2025, at Pastaio Cucina Rustica Italiana restaurant in Wintersville, Ohio.
The ceremony marked the successful completion of Trinity Health System’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) program for seven dedicated residents who have spent the last three years honing their skills in emergency care.
These residents are: Christopher Bell, MD; Mitchell Cornforth, DO; Marielle Discipulo, MD; Brigham Dunn, DO; Erika Keshishian, DO; Arjun Singh, MD; and Zaev Suskin, MD.
The ceremony was attended by faculty, staff, and community partners, with speeches from Chief Medical Officer Dr. Matt Colflesh and Chair of Emergency Medicine Dr. John Columbus, who offered words of encouragement and gratitude to the graduates for their unwavering commitment to patient care.
“We are immensely proud of the achievements of these residents who have trained to provide exceptional care under circumstances that were at times challenging,” said Dr. Colflesh. “As healthcare professionals, they are now prepared to serve and make a lasting impact on the communities we care for.”
Emergency Medicine Program Director Dr. Benson Yeh and Emergency Medicine Program Coordinator Mrs. Tammy Droginske presented the graduates with their certificates and recognized several exceptional individuals with prestigious awards.
The following awards were given in recognition of the residents’ hard work, dedication, and excellence in their training:
- Highest In Training Exam Award: Nathan Smith, M.D.
- Resuscitationist Award: Brigham Dunn, D.O.
- Proceduralist Award: Mitchell Cornforth, D.O.
- Best Resident Award: Arjun Singh, M.D.
- Humanist Award: Marielle Discipulo, M.D.
- Faculty Educator of the Year Award: Zachary Jackson, D.O.
The event also acknowledged the valuable support of Core Clinical Partners, whose commitment to providing a robust educational experience for residents has been instrumental in the program’s success.
